Those 3D cell module ideas sound great, and we only need to create one physical module for presentation right?
Going back to concept I think the statistics idea is strong, whether it be linked up to lighting or to the physical shape of the pavilion. Deciding which statistic to base the pavilion on will be crucial bc it will basically be our concept.
If the pavilion shifted shape each time a 'person died of world hunger' or each time a 'hectare of forest loss' personally that would have more of an impact and be more 'dramatic' if I were standing in front of it, as compared to the value of the ASX100. Maybe I’m missing part of the concept though. You can walk 5min to Bridge Street to see the ASX stats changing and it’s not actually that dramatic or fascinating. If the ASX happened to be drastically plummeting on the day we put up the pavilion that would be a strong statement on the GFC, but generally it tends to go a little bit up then a little bit down, not very dramatic. And what if on the day the ASX happened to be rising? It would be cool, but maybe not a powerful statement on the global crises in my opinion. The stock exchange is a fairly obvious representation of the GFC, however some of the other statistics show the wide reaching drastic social and environ consequences of the crisis. Just throwing ideas out there I’d like to hear what everyone else thinks on this one, we should probably get a consensus before moving forward.
felicity :)
