Yes I’m all for molecular cell structure, definitely more interesting than poles and string.

Re difficulties constructing tensile structures I found this article useful

What if we linked the lighting concept to the www.worldometers.info statistics that Phil posted? For example if the compression elements were fluroscent lights, we could have a light go out everytime a statistic changed. Eg one of the stastics is ‘people who died of hunger today’. If one light went out each time the statistic moved that would create a strong impact for the viewer, and it relates to the social and financial aspects of the brief. Or we could have 2 different coloured lights?.. the compression lights could be one colour, reflecting the world hunger statistic whilst the tension lights could be a different colour representing something like ‘Money spent on weight loss programs in the USA today’. That would highlight the gap between rich and poor nations. Could we focus on one of the crises mentioned in the brief or do we have to cover all four?

  1. hey felicity i asked the lecturer what crises, the number of crises etc and her response was 'upto you'. she said we can do as many or as little of the crises as we please.. all upto us =]
i rekon the lighting would be awsome-- i cheked out the statistics page, and they change every second, if we choose one of the common stats, the place would look like a friggin disco.
